Follow the Restoration of a 1988 Corvette ZR-1 Prototype

"I was browsing the Corvette Forum a few weeks ago and came across a very interesting thread and thought I'd share it here. A member there was able to locate and purchase a trashed 1988 Corvette ZR-1 prototype and is slowly bringing it back to life.


Lucky for us as we now get to follow his progress and witness the slow rebirth of a piece of Corvette history on either CorvetteForum.com or on a sister thread on The ZR-1 Net Registry. The owner plans to have the car ready for the C4 gathering in May at the National Corvette Museum.

What started out as a mess in a United Kingdom wrecking yard is slowly starting to look more and more like a C4 Corvette. Currently the car is being prepped for new blue paint after numerous body repairs. The prototype LT-5 is nearing the end of it's rebuild as well. One interesting item to note is the ZR-1 moniker wasn't around yet when the car was built, so many experimental parts are labeled with "KOH" for "King of the Hill". The thread also contains some information regarding C4 ZR-1 development and the whereabouts of other preproduction cars. A very interesting read!"
