This custom job has a ZR-1 tail piece as well as the obvious wing. Each to their own.

Now if it only had two more on top like the XR-8s.;ay

When it's never enough........go higher!

Yeah I know it's not a C3, but I couldn't resist it.

The taller the wing - the faster you go!  Didn't you know that?  ;laugh

Remember the Plymoth Road Runner of NASCAR fame ... those wings were made of solid steel and stood almost a meter high off the tail. you may not believe this but a recent article I read stated of the current "sport pack" cars, the Ford T series is one of the few rear wings that actually works ... ie generate enough down force to keep the rear ground huggin' ...

Those old Roadrunners and Superbirds were beautiful...and fast too. Too bad they were outlawed from NASCAR  just because they kept winning.
Bloody typical...If you can't beat 'em ........make 'em illegal! Just ask Frank Gardener that when they banned his Corvair because no one was clever enough to come up with a car that could beat his.

rebel

that's correct ... they won 7 in a row if I remember correctly and like you say, the laws were changed so they could no longer qualify and compete. It's a shame actually. There was one for sale in a Unique Cars edition a few months back asking circa $AUS100k. Aparently it was used as a family daily driver with mom dropping the kids off to school in it ... rear wing and all!!

Is that where the kids sat.....on the wing?:22

rebel

actually yes ... one photo has the father figure sitting on the wing. The car appeared as a feature article the first time, once as a colour ad and finally as a black and white before disapearing - assumed sold and lurking the streets of Aus ....

I know of one guy who sent one back here from the US in a shipping container. He covered in in grease and said it was for spare parts. Got away with it too!
