Looking at replacing the front  bar  with VP&G product, while I'm at it,  might fit a rear one as well.

What size front and rear combination is the best for road use on a S/B?  Plus do I go Solid or tubular.

Theres heaps of info on the corvetteforum.com C3 section about the VBP stuff.

I'd search there personally. Good luck.

Very True, but:
There's no info on this forum about sway bars.   :grr: and I would like to know what the guys have on their cars here.

It all depends on what size front bar do you have now or are looking to get.  Your rear shouldn't be more than about 65%-70% of the diameter of the front bar due to increased oversteer.  VB&P have front and rear bar kits that match.

I'd recommend a 5/8th (15mm) bar at the most for most C3's, but then it all depends on how you like to drive!    You'd probably have a 1 inch bar on the front now?

I borrowed a 5/8th for my old '77 and I loved it!  But I also had stiffer springs all round.  I have a Greenwood suspension book and he says go soft springs and BIG sway bars.

Most bars are solid - never tried tubular.

This is the kit I run and i'm very happy with it,rides firmer but not harsh at all and sits nice and flat in the corners. The front went down about 1 inch and I have no clearance issues even with a  windage sump.

Hi Silver,
I run that exact kit under my car and its awesome, its very solid. I have a movie on our forum (Macquarie Muscle) and you can clearly see when my car backs up my steep driveway how solid the suspension is.

I also just got (today) a "Rack Attack" rack and pinion steering kit and cant wait to install it.

Hi Mick
How did the spare wheel holder end up ?
I would like to fit rack and pinion to mine but it's a bit harder to sort out because it's RHD now.Let us know how you go with fitting of the r/p.
My suspension is also solid but even on these rough Qld country roads it still rides nice no harsh jarring etc.

Very interested to hear how that goes - I've been thinking of going with a steeroids conversion myself, just don't have the cash to cough up for it.

What I had in mind was a steeroids and hydroboost upgrade when I start redoing the engine bay, at the same time drop in power steering, hotrod air and a dewits radiator. $$$$$

Yeah I had to put the spare tyre holder to the side as I have had an issue with my engine that Im going through (long story).
