WANTED

C4 1990 REAR Glass Window.

Looks like I have no other choice but to take the New Mustang to Port for our coming weekend away.
At least it wont be a Nissan or other little "rice burner".

Another Angle.

Well I was feeling Better intill this morning around 10am, watching TV finishing a freshly squeezed coffee when I hear a car alarm, not just any car alarm - my car alarm. In a flash I'm out there to see whats up, my area is quiet, no cars or people wandering around, but alas the rear glass hatch window is SMASHED.

About 90% of the glass is still attatched to the plastic tinting sheet, it would appear that with wear and tear,  heat (most likely magnified by the tinting), twisting etc etc and the glass has literally exploded and dropped, but held safe of the curtain by the sides dropping onto the top of the rear guards, the glass whilst now in "safe" 5~8mm square chunks, has still scratched the paint. (and cut little fingers to ribbons)

Well ! ----- I think I need a new rear glass hatch.

The spare is a low speed smaller setup as Ray and Geoff indicate.

I'm running OEM Wheels on my 78 - steel rallies, c/w 255's.

These can fit in the spare carrier, since the bolt up bit at the rear can be turned 90° and dropped to a lower position.
AND.
The front two hangers allow the carrier to be lifted, unhooked and also dropped to a lower position.

My STD 255's just fit in, but once the carrier is tightened up, be aware that speed humps are a no go, since clearance now under the rear is very close. (The 255's are a bugger to get into the carrier, esp now I'm old and decrepid.)

Keep in mind that the carrier, cross member, diff/ axle and spare are designed as part of the rear collision crumple zone, and it is highly recommended that the correct spare fully pressurised with air is always in position.

Well what a great day.

Fine and sunny, not too hot with drfting cloud and nice breezes.

A good role up, some spectators and a few old friends dropped in.
(Good to see them).

I've been in this club for many years and the quality of Cars keeps getting better every year.

Well done all who attended, special thanks to Jeff, Belinda, Rhonda, Peter and Charlie who set up and got things running.

Thank You.
