I've read about that (apparently false) claim in the UK, e.g. :

... but have seen no mention in relation to Sydney. Do you have a link?

In Sydney they have to notify drivers of a camera .... even if the notice is after the camera.

Or 100m past the camera
speed cameras are not a problem, just stick tot he limits
Jethro a mate in the Goon has not been harassed  about alleged speeding in his vette for over a year now
he is a responsible vette driver
