Title: Never seen these before
Post by: Camo on January 25, 2013, 12:29:43 PM
Was trawling the net and came across this pic.  A couple in the pic I never knew existed. Anybody know anything about some of the cars in this shot?.............

I've seen that shot before, probably in one of my DVDs on Corvette history.

The wagon is the Corvette Nomad concept vehicle, unveiled at the GM Motorama 1954  ... back in the heyday of Harley Earl.

If they weren't destroyed they may have ended up here:

The reason any concept cars have survived is usually because a GM employee disobeyed/disregarded a destroy order and hid the car somewhere in GM's vast storehouses for years, if not decades.

I gather that was also displayed at the 1954 Motorama:

Ive seen that before too! A freind of mine "Aquired" 5 factory honda RC45's befor they went to the crusher. he paid a honda employee 1000 pounds to "take them of his hands and remain a secret" !!
Dam things are virtually pricless now, and a couple of them still make an apearence at the Isle of Man TT. What a score!:)
