Thanks Cam,
I should’ve asked, has the club decided on a hotel.
-
:huh:perhaps Michael from Pt Macquarie could recommend a suitable motel, and maybe book a block of rooms for us?
we will be attending for the weekend.

I can recommend Unit 16 Tasman Towers, 3 Munster St.
2 bedrooms with a great view, good to share, I paid $450 for a week during Winter Sun. It is in town the agents were Thompsons The Real Estate People. Look at it on the web. They also have another unit on the floor below. It has off street secure parking. 2 nights in a motel would cost just as much.
:omg:

Hi All,
Sorry for the late reply I was at coolies for the long weekend, without the vette :( but I made the most of it :)
There was lots of cool cars! even an old movie car (see pic) hint number plate still says "blown57"
Anyway if I can help anyone with accommodation tips just email me or call me 0428 317830 with either a name of the motel or a budget and I will pass on my local knowledge eg: driveways issues, breakins etc.

On another note I hope everyone can get to Port Motor Mania.
To give a bit of history Port Motor Mania is the brain child of a good mate Michael Head who of course owns a Corvette that is driven daily!!!
Micks Car !!!
There are a bit of a group of us at Port know with the same interest "Cars" and when we were approched to help Caden, Michael has gone
way beyond the call of duty to get a great day put together to help this little fella. I have met Caden previously when I did a charity run for him a bit over a year ago, he's a great little fella that could really use everyone's help. So tell your friends make a weekend of it they dont need a corvette as there is a huge range of genres for everyone (see flyer above). I might even bring my Buell on the day.
Thanks
Michael

Just had word that the Observatory resort will offer $100 a night ocean view rooms with underground parking.
THAT IS A BARGAIN !!!! make sure you mention our club to get the deal.
Also if anyone wants a bigger weekend we now have events Friday and Saturday as well.
Friday night - Tacking Point Tavern will host "Rockhard" who do all the old stuff ACDC, Black Sabbath, Rose Tattoo etc. They are a great act just ask Col Clark(club member) who saw them with me last year !!! The entire Carpark will be for muscle cars only, just like the old days :)
The lead singer is a mate of mine and is putting this on for free, he also owns a 500HP Pontiac Catalina :) and is about to fit a blower to it....
Saturday - we have a cruise out to Beechwood Tavern for the day and a cruise that night to finish with a drive Inn movie night in town.
Cheers Mick

Thanks for putting the update up here 72vet I was about to do that today.
Just a few extra's I will get in contact with Gary or Nick a few days before to get numbers for Friday at the Tavern to organise the Tavern bus for a pick up at a certain agreed time. So if you want to have a few with dinner watching the band there is a non driving option.
Also I will be leading the cruise on Sat night, hopefully in the Vette(working on her all today)
BTW I may not be present for the cruise on Saturday to Beechwood pub, as I will have a 4 week old by then:ado: and Vanessa may need help...

Looking forward to the weekend, good luck with the new baby Mick

That's right bfit that's what I'm doing, overwise the nearest voting area is port Macquarie primary school (my old school) about 400 metres from the observatory
On another note my corvette and Michael's (the organiser) corvette will be on the front page of our local paper this week. I will scan and put it up here.

Hi Mick,
Great weekend again as was the last one.
Glad the club could support such a worthy cause.
It just goes to show what the make up of the club's membership is for the number of people in their Vettes can do.
See you next time
