If you're into a bit of adrenalin pumping motor sport, and what Corvette enthusiast isn't, I recommend pencilling this event into your diaries.
For the first time, there will be boat racing at the Penrith Regatta Stadium, and it's a heat of the World Championship. Must be a real coo for the organisers. And, it's at the back door for a lot of the Sydney Corvette fraternity.
It's expected that there will be some Yanks and Kiwis coming out for this, as well as the local blokes of course.
Below is a copy of the Flyer for the event, and a link to a Youtube video showing Madness, a Taree boat and probably the favourite for the race, doing a few laps to check out the Penrith circuit.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the heads up Bob. Might go down on the 20th for a look

It's on this weekend folks.

I'll be there Sunday
-
Hey Bob, what day are you going?
-
Hi Nick. I'm going both days. Can't work out the Agenda from the promoters site, so going both days to make sure I catch the action. If you and Admin are going Sunday, give me a call at the venue and we can catch up for a chin wag.

Sorry Bob, did not see this until now. Was there on Sunday
Here is a video of highlights of Sundays events
Note to self: When shooting with a 400mm lens use a tripod or shoulder mount. LOL!!
Available in high definition on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81hASIAq51A) for those with fast enough connection speed
Video is 18 minutes long so watch your down load caps if you are on a small plan.

Thanks for the vids and sorry we didn't catch up.
IMHO boat racing, especially at this level, is an under rated spectacle.
There's no other motor sport I know of where you can have 5 or 6 540 or more Cubic Inch Blown Alcohol fed engines doing about 8,000 revs go past you at 160 MPH at the same time. You just have to see it, hear it, feel it to appreciate what it's about. I'm willing to forgive the organisers for the late start and the breaks between races, the action made up for it.
Now I'll get off my soap box.

I'm with you on that one. I use to go to Deep Water all the time before it died.
I thought the venue at Penrith was great, bar the walk from the car park. LOL!!
It was their first time there and I thought they did quite well considering. If they continue to have it there it will only get better with time as they find there feet. I would definitely go again.
