I would just like to let everyone know that our good friend Stephen Pearce has passed away this morning at 5.48am 01/01/2011. When he was in the club he had a C4 then a Black C5 with the # plates Batman, I have known Stephen for the last 15 years from the Corvette club & now with The American Muscle car club of Australia he was diagnosed with cancer a few months back so he went out & bought a C6 Corvette to enjoy his last days & he got to as many events with our club as possible. It would be fantastic if we could get some Corvettes & Muscle cars to the funeral for his last cruise with cars he loved.
I will post when the funeral will be on.
Rest in peace my friend.
Regards Garry.

So sorry to hear this news Garry, although we knew Stephen was unlikely to beat the cancer. I only met Stephen recently but he and his lovely wife joined us for runs several times in recent months, making the most of his time in his chosen toy, a red C6 convertible. Rest in peace Stephen.
I'm sure we can organise a few Corvettes in his honour, although I'm away from Sydney at the moment and unlikely to be able to make it.

So why was there only 1 Corvette club member that attended? did nobody care? Very disappointing! :sulk:

My Guess is most would be on holidays, interstate or overseas

At this time of the year, many members, including myself, are away from Sydney on leave. I am some 300 klms away, and could not get to Stephen's funeral. The Corvette Club did however arrange for flowers and expressions of sympathy for their loss, to Stephen's widow Christine and family.
