Hi everyone. Looking for a brand new front air dam for 71 model or someone to repair existing part. If anyone can help that would be great.

Contact Scott at CAC.

I can easily get one from the states but the cost of freight due to its size turns a $40 part into a $300 part any tips on cheap freight?

If you mean the cheap plastic ones... see below
try J & D Corvette in Bellflower LA, Ive got stuff over the counter there.
I know they fold those plastic air dams in half and will post them at a cheaper rate.
Mine was folded in half for 2 week in my suitcase and it looks fine on the car now.

I have one for a 1973 for sale, but I think they changed the design in 1972.I do not know if it will fit but you are welcome to look at it. Give me a ring on 0414882203.

Thanks but yes they did change the design so she won't fit

When my plastic one arrived from Willcoxcorvette it was folded in half.
They have a minimum postage cost when you use the login site, so buy a few small things with it and just keep adding little things until you see the postage proce change. Get the most for your dollar.
I'd be surprised though if the postage was more than about $30 through Willcox

good advice...

Did folding it cause any damage eg leave a crease or a white fold mark that plastic gets if stressed?

No. They are pretty thin and flexible.
I was worried when I took it out of the box, but after I unpacked it and looked it over I was surprised by how thin and plyable they are. I just straightened it and then bolted it to the car for a test fit. I left it there for a while and now it's sitting on the shelf waiting for me to paint the damn car.
Basically their only purpose is to redirect air - so they are not structural or thick or anything else of the type.
Just imagine a ice cream container lid, except long and black with a little bit of shape... Thats about the best description I can think of at the moment.
ONE WORD OF ADVICE:
Spend a couple of bucks and buy the mount kit while you're at it. It'll save you stuffing around and trying to find bolts etc. The mount kit is black so it'll blend in.
