Took the beast out last weekend and had a bit of fun with an evo 8.
When I got home i had a missing lug nut and the remainder of the thread still intact, ever done this before.
I dont think it will be much hassle to fix, I never had to change one out before.
Any advice fom people who have had to change these before.
Thanks
Mick
Just to clarify the stud is broken off at the base of the thread.

You can just punch it out the back of the hub and replace with new.
Ideally it should be back pressed in but you can pull a new one in using spacers and a wheel nut if you line the splines up
-
ideally you should replace the other 4 aswell,as they are weaker now;46

Thanks Guys!!!! I'll do that ;42

Front or rear? I don't think there is enough room to remove the studs and install new ones on the rear without pulling the stub axles.
-
its the front, which is good....

Which begs the question................
You and the EVO..............
Were you having a "braking" competition???

ha ha i know when i locked the wheels for a second wilst pulling up i did here a loud "crack".
All I can say here is that I was in front when I was braking, but he was in front once we had both stopped.
Makes me want to update my braking and makes him want a much larger turbo.

Camera angles can be deceiving, but is that top left (in last photo) stud bent?
-
its does look it in the photo dosent it. (enough to make me go have a look)
The others are all straight and true

I got a full set of studs when overseas recently (3 bucks each), I was really keen to take the car out so I only fitted 1 stud (the broken one).
As I was doing the lug nuts up I broke another stud off.
I then replaced the whole lot!!
I just feel lucky another one broke at that time and not while driving it.
If I learned anything its, If you break a stud "REPLACE THEM ALL"
