Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Welcome to the forum Pud.
The shifter handle is it manual or Auto?

I lost the subject in the original message somewhere.
The shifter handle keeps coming loose.  the original owner had a small tack weld holding it in place but that hasnt worked too good.  its on  1 64 vette (red of course) 4 speed manual.  There is no where to screw, bolt or whatever.  it just seems to slot into the right position but there is nothing there to hold it.    Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

This may help you to identify the part.

thank you very much for that...it was excellent.  it would appear that the original weld should have been there but I would say over time, it finally gave way.  It has certainly solved the problem.  Thank you all for your information and I can now sleep much better.

tah once again
