on a sidenote...the flared rear gaurds....buddy has a 73 and he also has the flares just behind the rear of doors......i thought they were glassed in later, but was told last night by a 76 owner that some came with them fitted by the dealer.....????????? i cant see why a dealer would glass and have to do bodywork and paint on a brand new car....mates are damn sight neater than the ones on this bastardised 69,and blend in so well you cant spot them unless you looking for them.....very nice job

Yeah I agree - BUT it's a hell of a lot better than those fixed units some people use. I cannot stand those....

The owner should be shot on site. ;58

Currently 21 bids have taken it from US$200 to US$9,200 with a little under 2 days to go.
I think $200 was about right when you read the description.

You guys are harsh - It'd be an ok project car!

That's why I'd offer $200, but then I don't need a project car.

3 louvers instead of 4, seats are wrong, aerial on back spoiler section, map pockets missing, exhaust is correct but missing covers! Those Flares are not original in any way! even from a dealer.
Nifty got pics of the flares?
No vette ever came out from the factory with flares attached, but it is possible that dealers did attach them, but highly unlikely, because you would be adding to the price and then it potentenially have a small market. Potentially the dealer may have installed them at a customers request though?
Only places like Balwin Motion ,Nickey and a few other Vette Tuner mobs put flares on from the dealer!
History lesson # Factory flares only came out between 69-71.
They actually were an option that hardly nobody knew about. When you ordered J56 Heavy Duty brakes you automatically get a set of L88/ZL-1 flares with your vette. This option was ticked mainly when you were going to race the Vette. This meant that ONLY if you ordered an L88,ZL-1,ZR-1 ZR-2 you automatically got them.. They were stashed behind the seats on the parcel shelf! BUT apparently a lot of dealers would steal them without the customers knowledge and re-sell them over the counter as parts!
