Thank you Bill Cox:

"Tarana Pub Run, Sunday 21 Sept.

Meet at Macca’s at the Creek at 8am for an 8.30 departure.
Meet up with myself at Mt. Victoria on the GWH at about 10am.
Then to Bathurst for a drive around the mountain and for those wishing to, a visit to the motor racing museum.  Then on to Tarana for lunch around the 12.30pm mark.  Make their own way home when ready.

The rout to the pub can be varied if they do not wish to go to the mountain.  A drive around through Oberon would be the alternative I would think.

That’s, it.
Regards, BC."

I'm guessing yes, but I'm sure one of the regulars to this event will chime in.

No, it's Tarana, pronounced as I understand it as "Tarra-nar".

I was considering doing that run, but I've done my back instead. ;30

Neville, you are way off topic. The subject of this thread is a  run to a place in NSW named Tarana (see link below).

The thread has nothing to do with the Torana car, the name of which apparently comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'to fly'.

Bugger left home at 7:55 for the short sprint to Eastern Creek to meet up with the rest of the group, on the way I received a call inquiring about the run, as all responsible drivers do with no hands free I pulled over on the Westbound ramp to the M4 freeway for a chat!  After a brief conversation I lead footed the pedal on the Vett as you do to get up to speed onto a freeway, but there was one problem the accelerator Cable jammed with 4 barrels singing

Mmm what to do, apply brakes No! Select Neutral No. turn the ignition off yep, that worked. Here’s a picture of the culprit. Firewall side

Thank you to the guys that offered assistance. I would like to see some pictures of the day that I missed out on.

Rotten luck, mate.

I had a similar thing happen to me in a Mazda years ago on the Warringah Expressway, except the return spring broke and, because of poor design, that pulled the throttle wide open and the donk was redlined. Turning off the ignition did nothing as it was pre-igniting by then. I stalled it by pulling the choke out. That would be no good today as there ain't no choke.
