Title: 88 vette
Post by: Jethro on December 20, 2007, 08:22:06 PM
Hey,

I had someone tell me the other day that the regulations had changed in relations to LHD - RHD compliance... It's was said, that any company that converts say a 88 Vette needs to warrenty the vehicle for 3 years same as a new car vehicle?

Can anybody shed any light on this?

Thanks Jethro

Mate, would you ask that person to tell you where that 'new' regulation is documented.

Don't believe everything you hear it's easy enough to find out the correct info via the official RAWS websites and customs sites as to what the rules are. If you cant be bothered to look than just call them and they will tell you over the phone or they will point you in the right direction.

^^ I had already searched the usual suspects, and found no mention of it, that's why I asked for a documentation link. ;-)

I don't trust rumours, I like to get the facts from the relevant authority.

Interesting but why would anyone give(or be required to give)  the same warranty for a 20 year vehicle as you can get for a new vehicle?

The rumour defies the 'logic test'.

Even though it would be nice to have....  :-)

as if, no one would be in business, you buy a old car have them convert it and they have to give it a warranty, yeah right
