Title: WooHoo! New rocker covers are on
Post by: Scott81 on May 23, 2003, 03:08:43 AM
Ok Bob here's your pictures, that is if you can hobble over to the computer, hehe :22  I had them powdercoated bright red and painted the inside with Glyptal.  Now I just need the L-88 hood insert and aircleaner assy and I'm almost there.

Looking pretty good there little fella. I definitely want one of those PCV valves too. Where did you get that one from?
That paint work is looking a little dull there....I'll have to come over and give a good old Aussie rub again by the look of it.:22

The PCV thingy is from Billet Specialties, not cheap, but it screws apart so you can replace the valve....and it's shiny.  Yup, time for you to get over and polish my paint again, and while you're at it the rims could use a touch up :)

It looks a million bucks Scott, a very nice job indeed, but.... Dare I say it, and at the risk of sounding like a smart ass, your brake master cylinder looks like mine!!!.... RUSTY! A good mate of mine is always giving me a hard time about it... One day...! Your Corvettes engine sure is neat tho, wish I could fit headers like yours. :22

David- that's all Brutus' fault! ;35  He forgot to polish it when he was here last time.  Actually, I still have the front suspension, steering box, brake booster and master cylinder to do yet....then it's repaint time.  If only money fell from the sky ;37

Dave...He meant to say....."I'm waiting for Bob to fall from the sky again." :22
I tried to help Scott with the finer art of detailing, but he kept threatening to remove parts of my anatomy every time I touched his car. ...Didn't stop me tho....I just got up early while he slept in........every day! ;laugh

If only money did fall from the sky!!! And I know what it's like having mates help you. My brother (who is just like a mate, always has been) was helping me once. Wanted to fill the power steering up. Gave him all the appropriate equipment and oil and he still got mthe oil everywhere. Then there is my other bro , every time I get under the Corvette I see his legacy!!!!! Why I otta.

Love the covers Scotty81!

Just noticed their exactly the same as mine except in red ...

In answer to a question you posted in an earlier post (http://www.nswcorvettes.com.au/forum/viewthread.php?tid=510) .... the inside wasn't coated prior to install. They seep a little on one side only.

Hopefully you were advised to coat them so that it won't affect the paint.

Regards,

Yeah he's done everything possible to them before installation.....whatever cost money, he did it.:22

Rebel,

Thanks, those look great plain as well, I just had to throw more money at it, actually I had them powdercoated so I won't have to worry about a repaint later, a friend of mine did them cheap.

Yes, I did give the insides a good coating of Glyptal before I put them on.  :)

Nice donk Scott81!

I love those rocker covers but I don't think they will fit a C4 unless you relocate the wiper motor or modify the cover. :b2

I used the word donk on purpose.  I figured it would be an interesting way to find out if Scott81 knew what one was! :evil:22

He's a fast learner that lad. I've clued him up on most of our colourful Aussie English during my past stays at Scott's abode.....possibly too much so actually. There's nothing quite as funny as hearing "p#iss off wanker" in an American accent.:b2:22:b2

And Bob got to hear that on an hourly basis too, haha! :22

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Sorry for the late reply, been down in Key West with my little brother playing tourist.  Actually, I'm a little well travelled unlike some of my fellow countrymen, so far I've been to about 18 exciting and fun loving countries, Australia is on my short list of places to see and Bob is #1 on my list to visit and annoy.  I knew what a donk was, and good OLD Bob has clued me in on the finer points of Aussie speak.  I also knew that a "bonnet" is the "hood" as we say, a "boot is the "trunk"......etc.  I would know more if Bob would stop mumbling ;35

It's a bit hard not to mumble after a night drinking that imitation beer they serve over there.:22;laugh:22
I get a headache just thinking about it. :b2
