Hello,
Can anyone tell me if the tacho red line on a 1968 is different for 390 hp to 435 hp .
Also how does the TI box mount on the RH inner fender on 435 HP

Tach redline is different, 5600 for 390 and 400 horse and 6500 for 435 and 430 horse motors.
Can't help with the TI amp, mine was missing when I got it.;ay

hi sday, here is the info you need, tell us a bit about your ride and engine set up? (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/MADLT1/hawksburytrip.jpg)

Thanks for the info, I thought the tach redline was different also. Didnt think about 400 hp option. This car has had a fuel tank repair so Im sure the sticker will be gone. I think its an original Tri Power. All 3x2 427 only had one fuel line there was no return. At the moment it has a genuine LS6 454 with the low profile alloy intake.

So what is your redline?
Yes, Tripowers and L88 all had only the feed line, no return.
The cars fitted with Qjets (Including 390hp 427) had a return line.
Another telltale is BB cars had caps instead of straps on the diff yokes.

Heya RHD.68.l89,
Have you got any pics of the different yoke connectors that you could post?

RHD.68.l89,
This is a picture taken of the yokes from a 1971 427 L36.

The pic shows the cast caps on the yokes with bolts holding them. Small block diffs had a U strap with nuts on the threaded ends.
71 L36 427?
The L36 designation was only used in 67-9.
71's had 454 instead of 427
FWIW, my chassis had "H DUTY BOB" chalked on it next to the diff

My car has 5600 red line, caps on half shafts not U bolts, rear bar , single fuel line , and what I think is original inner fender to mount TI box, it all seems to work in with 400 HP Tri power.
