Title: C4 cluster sun faded ?
Post by: Shaun on June 17, 2007, 01:20:31 PM
The tacho is visable on my  85 cluster at all times.
I have seen a website in the US which says that the LCD is sun faded ??  sounds odd but could be right.
does anyone have a second opinion ?

It is a pig of a job to get to the cluster based on the conversation. I would rather know if it is going to work before I start.

Hi Shaun I had a similar problem where my entire cluster was flashing. I found a company that can repair it for a reasonably low cost. southwest instrument's at         smeton grange.

Not that hard to fix. You can buy New replacement LCD's for around $100USD each. Have repaired these before but you will have to get that cluster out.

You can buy the replacement LCD's from US ebay site.
type in "corvette Lcd"

Just be sure you want the speedo or tacho and what year.

the cost is about US$100, I got mine last week. I havent fitted it yet. I am saving all my swear words for getting it out.

The instruction look like it is easy to replace once you have the unit out.
