Went for a run to Goulburn yesterday and had a good run;54, when I arrived there the motor was reving fast the slow;wtf, as this has never happened before parked the car to have a look;eek, headed home and the car misfired quite a few time, half way home it came good and the wife said ;49;49 there may be water in the tank. Got home and checked, and there was;30;50. NOW what is the best way to remove the water as there is no drain plug;ay. I was told once if you put metho in the tank it will break down the water, does anyone know of any old wives tales. On another note there was a hotrod show in Goulburn as well but seeing I had problem I didn't bother to have a look or take photos.

i have heard of the old metho trick and it has worked for some other members that i know in the club,BUT they are carby engines, dont know about injection?:grr

The best thing to do is siphen out as much of the fuel as possible and replace the fuel filter and put a litre of metho in the tank with some fresh good quality fuel and this should sort out your problem.
-
if all else fails the metho will stop mossys breeding...not much help to your problem but....:ado

OK, drained the tank got a thimble full of water out of the tank, will replace the filter and freah fuel, then we'll see how she go's, after the double demerits are over, ya. Thank you

Metho or Shellite works because it will sit at the bottom of the tank with the water. It just allows for a bit of combustability when it gets burned wih the water.
If the tank is low take the filter out and let it drain.

Drained tank and cleaned air flow sensor, Added a bit of metho and a stack of super unleaded. Went for a run down the M4, went like a dream, now I'm happy.;43

As water will not atomise, it wil mix with metho and the mixture of water and metho will atomise .
