not trying to start a war here, but what year would the best buy be between a '75 - '76 - '77 assumming that the cars were about the same condition, options, price etc?
is there any major differences between them? (sorry for my ignorance)
looking at keeping lhd, on historic reg etc.
have c'n some nice 1's from a couple of car dealers in usa
thanks
jj
ps. i have found this forum very helpful in my learning

there all vette so no problem.....but i think the 75 has the most hp rating from stock unless you can find an l82.personally i love the 69-72....but expect to pay big bucks.my pic would be the 77

I have a 77. Bit of a bugger when it comes to a rebuild. It was the year that they got ready for the next shape. There are some parts that are only applicable to the 77 and it varies from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

I would go for the 1975 a tad simpler for information
The 1976 had some unigue features that were only for that year such as tail lights, steering wheel
1977 as cam said is a bit of a bugger as it was part pre 77 and part post 77 mainly in dash and steering column
But mostly I agree with nifty
I prefer the 1970-72 models better design and simpler;42

HP is irrelevant as they all need more! :evil
I had a '77 and parts were no big deal. Buy the one in the best condition (paint / chassis / interior).

75 is my pick, better still if it were convertable
the last c3 to be one makes the 75 quite unique
and getting pricey in the US.1986 was the next convertable.
and all were pace cars.In coupes style 75,6,7 seem pretty much all the same
but are cheap entry level vettes

;51 Buy the best one you can find and afford irrespective of the year model. It will be the most cost effective one in the long run.

I love the 77.
Last year of the flat rear window.
New style interior getting ready for 78.
And in a review the 77 was actually regarded to have quite good build quality :p
The HP went up actually.
165 in 75 (base), 180 in 76 & 77 (base)
L82 had 205hp (75) and 210hp (76 & 77), but still that's not really enough.
This is just my opinion but if you get one of these years, be prepared to either live with having a good cruiser that is, in the scheme of things, pretty slow, or get ready to put money into the engine. Either way, because they are hard to find with the 4 speed manual, I would always think about upgrading the 3 speed auto to a 700R 4 speed (what was in the C4)
A 77 is what I would have bought if I didn't get the C4 (no offense to anyone, but the C4 is a far better car, but with a hell of a lot less character)

Chalk and cheese!
C3 = :v factor
C4 = cup holders! (oh, and better ;46)
