Title: Clutch conversion
Post by: JP on October 15, 2006, 09:37:02 PM
Has anyone converted an auto to manual and also LH to RH drive. I'm curious as to how the clutch was done? Hyd or cable, what pedals were used and so on. This is for a C3.

Thanks
James

Hi Jp
I have done this type of conversion
I use hydraulic, I use an original clutch pedal and modify it, I use an original bell housing & clutch fork. I also use original gear shifter and linkages.
The clutch slave mount bracket I make myself as well as the push rod.;29;29;29;29

They are out of a Holden HK, HT or HG
The clutch slave is modified to allow extra travel

Hi JP
As I said earlier
"I use original clutch pedal and modify it"
The pedal box is also modified mainly sleeves and bushes are installed to keep the pedal pivots tight.
As far as other pedals from other cars that is up to you
I use the corvette clutch pedal because it matches the shape of the brake pedal (assuming that yours has a corvette brake pedal)
Hope this helps;42
