CE coded blocks are Chevrolet Engineering replacement blocks. The motor may have been replaced under warranty. Is there any documentation with the car?
What is the Tacho redline? that will tell you the engine option
Is there a return line to the fuel tank? small block and 390 hP BB had Qjets with a return line.
Is there straps or caps on the diff yokes? the BB vettes had caps while SB's had straps.
These are the basic BB/SB differences. there are more but I can't remember them off the top of my head.;42
