Someone posted about these awhile back, but I can't find the topic.
A supplier in the US who would make any plate, and therefore we could get them done in the style needed so it looks like a real Aussie plate but USA size....
Anyone remember the link?

It was my plates! The website is http://www.licenseplates.tv/index.php Email them with exactly what you want, show them your plates. What I did was emailed a photo of my plates and asked them to copy the style of letters & numbers, and to make the plates the same size as a US plate. Make sure you tell them the colours of the plate and numbers & also make the letters/numbers, surround lines raised as well.

Victoria now has Euro sized plates and a petition to introduce legal US sized plates is doing the circuit of clubs. I think it is going to be presented by the AOMC.
Theoretically it is still illegal to use non genuine plates or modify your existing ones to make them fit. Hopefully this petition will change that.

This sounds great,
Hopefully it will make its way up north to Sydney ;48
We can only hold on and keep our fingers crossed....;eek

So I have heard, but I am just looking at a possible backup plan ;laugh

I never read that, I was not aware of that, I swear ;-)
The great thing about getting them in the same colours, they will fit the car, and what cop will know that the plates shouldn't fit? I seriously cannot imagine a police officer spotting that the aspect is out ;53

That's one of the reasons I am surprised they haven't done it before, as long as you can read it, they may as well sell them for the $395 you have to pay to get a custom plate ;48

Well I never......
Who would have thought the government would willingly charge it's constituents a fee for having something their own way? Aren't they working for us?
A government of the people, by the people, for the people......., sorry wrong country:o:o:o:o:o

It's a backburner idea at the moment, I'll see if anything happens with vicroads first, I just remembered about this, so I wanted the link again ;-)

WhenI contact the NSW RTA they said they would only consider US sized/shaped plates if there was a demand for them. When I asked what demand meant they stated 10,000 pairs per year minimum.

What a load of s%*t, they have in the past made low run plates! what about those green & yellow striped ones...New England? I've only ever seen a few with them on!
Is it that hard to make the prisoners make them a little squarer? They got nothin better to do?
