the headlights on my 85 are poor at best. I have taken a look and they appear to be a sealed beam unit. I know there are halogen up grade kits available form the US but does anyone know of a solution that can be purchased in Oz ? There must be replacement parts for a car in oz that will fit ?
thanks

Well i'm not up on C4's but I gpt a set for my C'3. Pretty standard. Had to check a couple of different brands to find ones that were not too deep for the pop up lights but from memory the c4 mounting is completly different and should not be as big an issue.
I got my units from an auto accessorie wholesaler called Vanline, based out here near Campbelltown [leumeah/minto]. I don't know if they have other warehouse's but you can give them a call. As always it's best to turn up with the light in hand to make sure what you buy fits.
I don't have their number here at home but I'm sure telstra assist will have a listing [12455]. If you have no luck on the number post back here and I'll dig it up.
Failing that you might want to try Corvette Alterations at Dee Why. 9971 8218. Scott Girard. Not cheap but great service from my experience.

Are you sure they are still sealed ?
Usually in the course of the conversion they get changed to non sealed H4 lens.
Eitherway, can go any decent parts shop and get a replacement lens that takes a H4 bulb.uses the same connector as the sealed units
Your options are then open as to what wattage bulbs you fit.
Going to 100W in a regular bulb made little difference on mine but changing to a pure white bulb ( the blue ones ) at 60W worked wonders.
Much "cleaner" white light instead of yellowish

You can swap with an Aust model but darned if I can remember (Gemini??). Then you can put H4 globes in. I'll try and find out from the guy who did it.

Was std sized fitting on 70s european cars , take it into Repco or similar and get them to match up.
From HELLA Aust site
Part No.1043 200 x 142mm Halogen High / Low Beam Insert
