Not really the right forum, but it'll get noticed here more...
What is the easiest way to mount an extinguisher in a C4?
I don't want to put in any mounts, this is just for the convension so I will be able to track the car.
Cable tie it somewhere? What should I attach it to?
Dumb question I know ;31
-
Screw it to the front of the drivers seat. Make sure you put the seat all the way forward to test fit.

passenger seat with cable ties

love a good cable tie myself, gotta do the same myself. But I figure, make a braket out of aluminium, that will attach to left seat mounting bolts, front. then fit extinguisher bracket to home made one. And there ya have it no holes drilled in the Corvette!;--
-
Hmmm. Car on fire.....under 6ft tall......try reaching to the passenger side to get it!
-
just started fitting a bracket and fire extinguisher on the left in front of passenger seat, and guess what at only 5 foot 9 inches, I can reach it! Just...;--
I will admit it, I am the missing link (no one has ever asked me) and my knuckles don't quite drag on the ground!
Hmmm... In front of the driver seat is a better option!

hey dont worry dave i will ride shotgun with ya ;29

Hey Guys, if you are going to mount a fire extingusher anywhere put it in front of the drivers seat
-
thats were mine is mounted.but mine is c3 maybe some c4 and c5 have issues mounting it there? :22:22:22
-
success ;35
combination of a real mounting bracket, a strange horizontal bar in front of the drivers seat (I have no idea why it is there) and some cable ties.
Note, this is a mount that could be attached in a better way (ie screwing it in), but this seems to fit perfectly.

I have 2 fire extinguisher mounts that are specifically made for our Vettes. IxC2 &1xC3.
These are made in the US by the guy who makes the Sharkbar seat belt mounts. I will lend them to anyone who needs one.

With a NOS sticker to impress the doof-doof crowd!
Like Bill Cosby used to say; it’s cool to have a fire extinguisher in the car, so if you see a house on fire you can stop and put it out...
-
if it is held in with cable ties how does it release?;mmm
-
Hey smackc4,
I love the NOS Sticker on the extinguisher..... fully sik bro..... just keep it away from the doof doof crowd... they might actually think its laughing gas and try sniffing it...;48
