Hi Guys,
Haven't been around long in this market but am trying to get an idea of prices for a C3 Coupe years between 69-72 big block. In the online adds they seem to range from 30000-50000, One body off restored is currently selling for $100000 (although this is a convertible), there's dealers fully restored matching numbers with restoration history and all the plates in QLD not registered but all mechanicals have been rebuilt (engine, clutch, gearbox, suspension, body off resto and paint) all original for $70000.
A '71 454 on Classic cars USA, completely restored, including pics, original owners manual matching numbers is US$32000 (Aus $44000) but then you have to factor in shipping ($15000?)
There's a grey coupe in Taree all mechanicals rebuilt, new paint, looks excellent for $39000
Its sort of doing my head in, I'm interested in the 70000 in qld as its restored but is the asking price too much?

Shipping does not cost $15000 even if it does have to come from East coast to West Coast.
Who quoted you that price ?
-
my estimate, just off the cuff and reading some experiences on the net, but also considering in that cost customs, and changes required for rego? so what would be the price then? to ship to Australia?
-
brought 3 Cars in from various USA States last 12 months Avg Price has been around $8K that includes GST and all Customs Clearances
Add $2K for Blue Slip / Rego / Insurance.
Then add >>>> $$$ plenty to do repairs as not yet seen too many that don't require repairs

Thats a nice Vette.... looks very impressive.... much cheaper buying it in the states and bringing it in .. thats for sure!

Sorry do not agree, that Vet for that price would be a driver quality and landed would be around $59000 Aus. This takes into account all shipping and GST costs.
Smart buy here can do better with out the hassle, have seen two go for less here in the last 2 months.
The dollar being down kills of what appears to be a good buy. :tears:
