Title: corvette parts sold in Australia?
Post by: barnes on July 13, 2015, 10:52:10 PM
Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I have a 71 Corvette convertible that i will be rebuilding soon just curious on the availability of getting new parts in Australia can anyone point me in the right direction or is all my buying in the US? I did buy a lot of parts when the dollars was strong  :tears: but forgot about parts like the Front and Rear shocks  Cheers Kerry

I've used http://www.vbandp.com (http://www.vbandp.com) for almost all my brake and suspension stuff.  I got a few parts from https://www.vansteel.com (https://www.vansteel.com) as well.  Between them you should be able to make the car drive and handle pretty nicely.

I put Pedders Gas Sports Ryders on my '75. Found them to be too hard and ended up spending the big bucks and put Bilsteins all 'round. Ride was so much better.

I grabbed a set of Gabriels when Supercheap had a buy 3 get one free sale.  I had to wait a month or so to get them ordered in but didn't have a problem with them.

If you strike out there and I have also found Phil at Vett Connection in Victoria extremely helpful on some parts that I have needed and sometimes he has them in stock so you can save on the expensive O/S shipping always worth the call - You can get  Phil or Geoff on 9776 4114
Plus he is always good for a chat when it involves Vettes.

I just purchased some front and rear HD KYB Gas shocks from (Pontiworld)  I was going to get the Bilsteins... Aussie dollar too low for that and freight is ridiculous from the continental USA. also some of them wont air freight shocks
