Gents.
Everything was working fine a few weeks back , now the lights won't raise at all ?
Got some tips on where to start before I get myself into a spin with the vacuum system ?????
Tried the manual switch makes no difference. All fuses are ok.
Any tips all help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I would suggest you visit Dr Rebuild's website and download the vacuum hose diagram. This will give you a good understanding of how the system works and then you can begin your process of elimination.
-
Thanks COD
Will check it out.

Give Geoff a call he is the c3 fix it for the club and I have always found him very helpful and a very nice bloke to boot.

Thanks Ross
See you at Penrith next Sunday morning.

Fuses not used in any part of the light lift mechanism. It's all mechanical and vacuum.
Stupid question but you do have the engine running don't you?
-
Yes mate Engine was running heading to the man cave now to go over it.

Check small hose on the vac relay (front of hood) for vac with bypass on. Should be able to feel/hear it with hose off. If OK all dash control is good.
Relay acts like a tap. big hose from inlet should have vac while ever engine is running. Oulet to vac motor has vac only when small line has vac on it.
Very common for one or both relays to leak enough to stop operation. If so work out which leaks least and using a couple of "Ts" operate both motors from the best relay.
Good luck!

Passenger side limit switch or spring loaded switch has broken off. Is this a switch to interlock that light is on position. It's completely broken away. Drivers side is intact. Will now go through your procedure. Thanks heaps

The switch is there to operate indicator lite on dash only has no bearing on operation of mechanism. Working on a conversion kit to make the headlites electric if anyone is interested?

On your comment Sirfixslot - I think Neil has done his C3 and from memory (only got a quick look ) it was quiet effective and simple although I think he was trying to make it even better- I'm having an old person day - I think it is Neil Grote sorry Neil if I spelled it wrong.
-
Hey Choptop, did you find the problem? I just re-hosed mine so I now have a better idea of how it all works. Let me know if you need a hand.

Hey COD.
Won't get another chance to look at it until Sat or Sunday.
I'm heading down to the Sunday morning doughnut and coffee at Krispy Cremes on Sunday morning at Penrith I'm hoping to get a tutorial crash course from the boys in the club then on this Vac System
I did check our your site you recommended. It requested a payment to download but a lot of info on there.
Talk soon
Chris.

I will be there on Sunday. I have a diagram that I will bring along. Yes there will be a heap of knowledge there and I'm sure collectively, we will sort it out.
-
Good Stuff - see you then
Hopefully we have some clear skies for the morning
-
Hey COD.
Thanks for the diagram today and your great troubleshooting skills to find the problem. Glad it was a simple fix. I had the 3 issues today all within 2 hours. Lol.
Hopefully our 2nd run will be less troublesome. Thanks again for your help.
Cheers Chris.
