Thanks Terry. Looking forward on catching up with you guys.
parking is a major problem
Bfit
Providing it's secure off street parking, I'm sure we'll sort it out Bob.
On the positive or may be it the negative side. How was your stay at The Nelson last weekend?
Nick
-
the building is vintage like some of us.
It has had a make over, Modernized in the not to distance past. like some of out vehicles
The room we had was reasonable.
no real complaints
if you don't have a cat to swing no issues.
Ok
if i had to be picky, the showers are on the low water supply side of where i like it to be.
It would be best to approach the drive way from the lower side ( ie up the hill ) to get in to the drive way
The Nissan 4by had no problems, Butttt a C3 ?
one major advantage the premisses has
it next door to the bottle shop
Bfit
ps
I noticed a number of brown paper bag & bottles on block next door
near the front of the building !
its a long stretch of the imagination to describe the car parking area a secure
there may be security are night , I didn't inquire into that at all.
-
Hey BFit
I agree with a low car - it may be best to, drive down to, and around the roundabout near the visitor center and back up the hill, turn in on the lower level - 1st turn beyond the drive through bottle shop, the dip in the road outside reception is awkward. :thud:
(Would you like me to raise your concerns? happy to do so).
-
No mate if we all go there and work together we will have a g8 weekend
I found the staff there excelent
That accounts for a lot
We can be to critical at times life's to short
There looks too be an out door setting behind he pool area
That will suit us perfectly.
It would be nice to know if there is a security patrol of the car park at night.
Bfit
-

Bfit
Bob, I'll inquire about the security, I'm guessing the answer will be no.
I have been organizing this club run since 2010. It has been well attended with members corvettes parked in non patrolled parking, and not once has there been an issue with car security at any of the resorts, and I can see no difference with The Nelson.
-
Mate as you know
It's all about the company we keep, than any thing else
Bfit
-
I hope it's not tooooo bad. I know I only have a meer C4 but it doesn't like tricky dips - hence why I'm missing half the fairing / air dam under the front. And I suppose I'll have to turn on the Central locking and Alarm System. I have no issues with the car being stolen since they would have skull drag the car onto a tray tow to get it, whilst it screems the house down. Its fitted with the full OEM security system plus a Piranha. So its the broken window or the vandalism etc that will "P" me off. But anyway "B" and I are booked (fri-sun). It'll be OK as long as the bed is OK, clean and firm. The steaks are black on the outside an m/rare inside. Starting to get hungry already..

top parking area
(http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i423/Bfitsvette/parking.png) (http://s1093.photobucket.com/user/Bfitsvette/media/parking.png.html)
there is about 12 parking places under main building ( Basement area ) to the right of photo and 4/5 car spaces under the main building
at to the right of top parking area.
bfit
-
I believe there are around 40 car spaces, I can ask or count them if you like?
-
That probably about rite
19 in photo and 5 of so under the the building to the right facing the car park and roughly 12 /14 under building.
if we utilize the top section to Left of Pool area,
nose to tail we can get 18 or so vehicles in that section no worries if required.

Hi Gang,
The guys that have their reservations sorted for the weekend away fantastic, if you haven't, a reminder our room reservation cutoff date is 31/12/14 and is approaching fast.
Only 13 couples confirmed thus far & I have noticed a few of the regular names missing from the list? We have a couple of new members attending this year. :thumb:

Dinner - Sunset Seafood BBQ Dinner Cruise. http://www.imaginecruises.com.au/cruises-tours/sundowner-sail-cruise/ (http://www.imaginecruises.com.au/cruises-tours/sundowner-sail-cruise/)
I've booked this as a private function so we have the Sailing Catamaran to ourselves. Cost $90.00 per couple, this will be added to your room account at the Resort.
The SS Minnow will sail at 5:30pm, for the 2hr leisurely cruise in the bay, swim & enjoy the seafood dinner & yes there is a licensed refreshment station onboard.
Casual clothes, swimmers & towel are a must if you would like to go for a dip.
The Skipper and Gilligan should have us back to shore at 7:30, to again find another establishment to kick on till late or we may choose to extend
our time on the Minnow by an hour for the extra cost of $200
Sunday
Breakfast - At your leisure with friends.
Lunch - Please meet in the car park at 10:45 for the drive to Medowie Macadamia farm for lunch.
- Following lunch we may visit the Aircraft museum at Williamtown, cost $30 per couple or take a leisurely drive to Lemon tree passage. Cost $0.00
plus E98
Dinner - BBQ night at the resort by the pool, which we all would have become accustomed to. Casual "but" preferably fancy dress.
We all would have been shopping Saturday to purchase our diet requirements for the BBQ banquet, food should be aplenty.
"Honey Bourbon Ray" has offered to be our master Chef for the evening. He will require assistance at the hot plate, any suggestions "Bourbon Bob" :bolt:
Monday - Late breakfast then head home or stay another week.
Any questions give me a :phone:
-
Sounds good Nick - we are in, thank god its not a three hour cruise - we all know what happened to the last SS Minow.

Nick - got your agender - well done - this will ensure Ole farts like me turn up to the right address. I'd like to see a similar sheet handed out for lunch runs - esp Mals. Its hard to run 10 or 20 Vettes to a destination if roads narrow and we go thru Traffic lights and participants are not familiar with the area's. Thank You.

Indeed it is Bfit & it’s coming together nicely.
Only change is the meeting time on the Friday morning. It’s now a 10:00 departure time from Maccas.
I'd like to see a similar sheet handed out for lunch runs
Weekend away events, you would expect to have all details in order for it to run smoothly.
With our normal Sunday club run, perhaps we could look at having the lead car, a member in the centre and one at the back of the pack who are familiar with the destination.
Something to discuss at the next meeting I guess.
-
Top weekend up there for Sat/Sun be sure to drop into the Mariner over the Weekend , Marlin Classic is on !!
You see some beauties brought in from the Game Boats for the Weigh ins

Fun begins tomorrow.
Welcome to the last minute attendees, Ross & Lynne, Jeff & Rhonda. :thumb: Brings the attendance to over 20 couples for the weekend.
The Saturday evening SS Minnow dinner cruise is booked out.
