Here at SMS Performance, registering your recent import just became a breeze. SMS Performance is a fully accredited RTA inspection station issuing roadworthy certificates including blue slips.
This means you can bring your vehicle straight from the shipping yard to us and will leave our shop with full registration. We can take care of headlight swaps, seatbelt issues, any modification that may be required to pass blue slip, full safety inspection and written report on any outstanding repairs.
I can take care of your weigh bridge ticket, even supply you your green slip through QBE all without leaving my workshop. How good is that? No tricks, no bull just good old fashioned honesty and hospitality.
Hope to see you soon.

Thanks Jethro
All going well it will be shipped from East Coast ( its currently inland about 200kms ) then truck it to LA in about 2 weeks
From there we will do the normal container ( shared ) sea freight so another 6-7weeks before I get my hands on it ...
I will be in touch when it gets a little closer and definitely will bring it down to Chris at SMS
@ Jethro - I am in the Blue Mountains ( near Springwood ) and hoping to join your crew very soon with my Family.
I might pop down on Sunday as you are guys are close to me and say hello.
Bought the plates today so now its a waiting game and hoping a empty container doesn't turn up ...
We have a few things to get right but its nothing major and it had a full strip down back in 2005 in Arizona and only done 31000 since it ...
Just ticked over 41 so yes its my mid life crisis and a expensive one I am sure ... :thumb:
Cheers Chris ( 73CVET )

Using this system and not roll on roll off (roro)
Got a few more bucks but will reduce the damage. ( hopefully)
Any other members used this system or know of it ?
Cheers

Yes mate hope it does not arrive like this or I will be in trouble ( and divorced from the Mrs ) ....

Are you guys heading to Nepean Rowers this Sunday ?
If so I will pop down and say hello ( but will have the Mrs 1972 XJR Jag with us , its no comparison to the Vetts though and also works in progress )
All going well the Vette should leave East Coast late next week bound for LA
Here is some before and after's , still work to do but its the normal fiddly items ( Windows / Brakes / Handles / Lights etc... )
and long past the strip down .....

Well spotted

mate If you can find out approximate when your car was actually manufacture
if it was manufactured in 1972 I would put that on your rego in as in australia cars are determined by date of manufacture.
it will help you if the car aw actually produced in 1972

Chris
mate by our laws if the serial Numbers line up for 12/72 production or early you can argue it is of 1972 manufacture
Hence a lot less BS to get it registered
I would pursue that as vigorously as possible

I have a 73 vert with the 80-81 front end, so it's something I notice

Forget the first registered date. Give me the VIN number and I will tell you the month manufactured, in my opinion it will be more advantageous to use this.
-
I will PM it to you Reserve
cheers
