Sad news is coming through that Aussie motor racing legend Harry Firth, The Silver Fox, has passed away, aged 96. It is reported that Harry passed away at 7.15pm last night 26-04-14 after a private battle with cancer in hospital near his home in Bayside Victoria. Harry is the father of HDT racing and was much admired by all the racing fraternity.

Harry also developed the gt cortinas and discovered Peter Brock . RIP Harry.

Another era gone, a definite legend in Australian motor sport & big reason we have the "hot" cars of the 1970's

I believe Harry and co won Bathurst in 1967 driving the 67 XR falcon gt.
Which our family has one of the 150 made in our garage
This Gt started the proceedings that led to the phase 3 monster.
I managed to chat at the last muscle car masters at eastern creek
with Harry and snapped a pic and gave his signed poster to hold with our car.
Where do you start with this great Australian..sadly missed
