Title: '79 steering wheel
Post by: mention1 on February 27, 2014, 09:55:55 PM
Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a '79 from a guy in Tweed Heads.
The car has one of those 4 spoke steering wheels that was on the "76 year model and was also used on other Chevy cars such as the Vega.
I thought all '79 Corvettes had a 3 spoke wheel?

He claims that on the cars without the tilt/telescopic steering wheel option, this 4 spoke wheel was the standard fit. Is he right?

Any thoughts oh sages of the vette???

According to the 78-79 NCRS judging manual, the 3 spoke wheel is standard with the tilt-tele column and the 4 spoke is standard with the non tilt column. Also the 4 spoke is only covered with grained vinyl and not leather. Hope this helps

Thanks Tracy, appreciate it.
So he tells the truth. Vinyl, eh? Well it was the seventies!

Hi every one again,

I'm looking to buy a car that is fully registered in the ACT.

I believe I need a blue slip.

Does anyone know of a place to get a blue slip either in the ACT or Wollongong/Nowra or Sydney? Seems to be in good knick, just want to specifically look at if it has any rust issues while I'm at it.

regards,
Andy.
