Title: Electric aerial '71 . ebay ones fit?
Post by: Old guy on January 28, 2020, 09:36:23 AM
Hi, have an aerial flopping around, hanging out of the car. Missing some bits to keep it mounted obviously. A small fortune for a corvette one I saw. Anyone tried any other car's ones that fit? Or the universal ones for about $30 on ebay? Or........? I guess anything could be made to fit, but is there one that's a simple task to fit?

Random one chosen below.

I fitted a universal one to my 78 has been going about 15 years with no problem. From memory only drama was getting up beside muffler laying on my back would be easy on a hoist

Some time back I bought just the mast and replaced it.

The plastic drive belt had disintergrated.

Thats on a C4 - but again you need multi jointed arms, hands and fingers if doing it on your back with car only on jacks.

Have fun.
