This 90 is now mine, new US plates on order, coming soon.
Exhaust now sounds great, rear hatch now opens great, its like a rocket sled.
But consumption looks to be high, around a bout, stop start 60k to 90kph its reading 13.4L / 100km. This is higher than the 87 gets.
And I cant see on "Overdrive" light coming on, the Sales brochure and Youtube show a lit "□" light displayed on instrument panel, the 87 did this.
Any Series 2 C4 owners out there - could you please comment if you cars "Overdrive" light comes or not. Any info much appreciated.
Regards.

Hey Uncle Doug that's around 21 MPG not to bad I think !!!!!
-
yes that's about right 21MPG,
Now get out and do your bit for the economy, burn that expensive fuel, keep the Saudi's in pocket money.

I dream of 21 MPG.

21
Doesn’t bring MPG to my mind.

Might be - but Nah!
The 87 gets better.
Filled up the 90 yesterday after going to Curry and its been into the city to bring home the .,,.,,.,.,.., Mustang.
Now indicates 11.9, still too high and I'm sure the Torque converter is not locking up.
Could be A/trans switch, or switch on the brake, or go peddle, since its had L - R conversion, (chain & bar or similar) maybe the switch is out of wack.
And YOU know how much I love Converters.

No switches on brake or go pedal. All controlled by ECU. Spèed related only. Changed from about 70k in 86 87 to about 80k in 88. No idea of what speed programed for 90 model. No indication on my 88. Says nothing about it in handbook or manual.
-
Ummmm - the memory is not so good.
The 87 is knocked out of Torque Lock if you hit or even touch the brake, I think this is designed to stop engine stall.
The Torque lock I think can come on in any gear, my 87 definitely did it in both 3rd and 4th.
I have other issues now, with Alt / batt light coming on, so TCC etc is on back burner.
-
I think you're confusing torque lock with cruise control lock.
-
Was just looking at a site, shows 90 brake pedal switch, has four conections and I think a Vac connection.
Obviously the Vac and assoc switch is as you say Cruise Controll.
The other switch is Brakes with an electrical feed off to the TCC via ECM. I'll post this now as I tend to loose things if I go searching for a pic .
Nah no luck the pic I had was the cct for the speedo pick up in the gearbox up to ECM with a split off to the FX3 Ride cct, was for an earlier post.
I also have both a download and original Chev Sales Bruocher, but pic or screen dump are both Mega Joules tooo big to post
Anyway I've got to go out now and find out why one driving light is only half bright, possibly come out of holder.

Well there you go. Today is now worthwhile. I learned something. You are correct. Cruise switch supplies positive to trans valve control and ECU supplies ground. BTW the ECU switched line is available on the ALDL plug at pin F if your still looking for an indication.

Ummm F pin. Tomorrow.
