I'll check the wiring diagrams tomorrow, since by books are at the factory, and report back to you here.

But in the mean time:-

Is your temp gauge still working?
and is your oil pressure gauge still working?
Also does your gen light come on when you turn your ignition on?

Hi , running a mech temp gauge at the moment ,gen light hasnt worked since ive had the car . themo reg for dual electric fans sh#t itself on the way to town, dont know whether ive bumped some wires tracking down that , hard wired fans and put toggle switch on .I did take it to an auto elect  and after about 30 min i told him to stop [ had less of an idea than i did about what was wrong ] there is another guy in Darwin who seems swithed on i just have to book 2 weeks in advance to see him .

Sounds a bit more major than I can do over the forum.  An auto sparky will be the go.  Having said that there is a 30amp circuit breaker on the fuse box that might have tripped but it sounds that you have some real issues.  With your alternator light not coming on I would imagine that you have a battery going flat problem?  This light is in series with your exciter coil on the alternator and with out it your alternator cannot charge.....usually.
