Hi Guys
Thank you Mat the registration works.
I am about to undertake a full restoration of a 69 Coupe and need the lifting straps.
I can buy a set but as I will only do this once, was wondering if anyone has a set I can borrow.

Hello Tippa, 69 Dirty Rat and MJ 427
My vet originally was Gunmetal Grey and I will retiurn her to that colour.
I do not beleive she is still a 427, somewhat basterdised by the previuos Canadian owner, I am still trying to wokout what the engine is.
I think it is a small block with high rise manafold, tripple weber carbs and a few other odd modifications, estimated BHP is 600, but Iam not placing to much on that.
The 4 speed manual is unkown at this stage.
The guards have been flared and running 15" wide rims, the body has been undercoated, but a lot of work to be done before I put the final coates on.
I will have a far better idea once i lift the body and get access to all the numbers.
Have any of you guys lifted a body, and if you have any suggestions.

Hi Cosmivette
Sorry I missed your post.
-
Just on your motor, how wide are your valve covers, not long but how WIDE? This measurement will tell you. I believe a big block is a lot wider in the heads than a small block.
Any pictures you can post?
I have not taken a body off but after having stripped my unit right down and nearly taken the body off, didn't because I ran out of space, I can possible point out a couple of things.
Any body got some body lift straps for this fella?
-
Hi Cameron 77C3
I will take some photos next week and see if I can mange to post them, I am not all that computer literate.
I will measure the width at the same time and let you know.
I believe the numbers on the rear of the block will reveal all the details of the motor, but need to get the body off to access them.
Thank you for your interest, talk again soon.
Norm

If you take some pix, I'm sure between us we can work out whats going on. Some of us have numbers books too,so hopefully we can sort it all out!. 15 in rims....jeeeeeeeeeeezuz. If you have trouble with the photos, MJ427 should be able to work you through the process.
Just a thought...can you hire them through a place like Kennards or similar, they have lots of that sort of stuff? Its cheaper than buying, but hopefully someone in the club has one

One assumes you talking about hiring the straps Andy and not the pictures. [Sorry the devil made me say it] :b2:22
