Title: Park brake handle - is it possible to remove the plastic?

Is it possible to remove the button and plastic grip part of the park brake handle?

The plastic on mine is in ok shape, I just want to get the metal part re-chromed if possible. Would be heaps cheaper than buying a whole new handle.
