Just a reminder to get those earlybird entries in
-
Who's thinking of making the trip? had a few members asking on the weekend and i wasn't sure who was going.
-
Entry is in but haven't booked accommodation yet.
We're considering two stops (overnights) down and slow return via the Great Ocean Road. :what:
I'm thinking Narrandera and Renmark or there about as overnights but am open to alternates if there is a convoy.
Is anyone taking a lead on the trip?
-
We won't be able to make it this time, but if anyone wants info on The Great Ocean Road we can put them in touch with some of our Melbourne Corvette members for assistance.
-
As requested by members at the recent Northern run, details of the convoy to "Vettes in the Vines" are as follow:
Day 1 (16 April)
Sydney to Narrandra (570km)
Starting at Uncle Leos 8:30 for 9:00 start (To Be Confirmed)
Staying at Narrandera Midtown Motor Inn, Narrandera (02)69592122 - in16/4 out 17/4 contact is Trisha or Natalie
Quote "NSW Corvettes" for the special rate of $100 for a Queen room (normally $120) holding 5 rooms for two weeks at that rate
Day 2 (17 April)
Narrandera to Renmark (604 km)
Staying Renmark Hotel, Murray Ave, Renmark (08)85866755 - in 17/4 out 18/4
Quote "NSW Corvettes" for a corporate rate of $100 - holding 10 rooms until the end of January at that rate
Day 3 (18 April)
Renmark to Barossa (190km)
Short run to the venue to ensure we're there for registration and settling in.
Please be reminded that rooms at Novotel Barossa Valley will be released and special rate is not guaranteed after 31 January, so if you haven't booked yet, you better get moving!
Jakki and I will be returning via the Great Ocean Road and are not pre-booking. Anyone is welcome to join us.
-
Booking detail now updated as previously promised.
Please note that neither motel were keen on holding rooms as this is the lead to Easter.
Be quick if you want to tag along. :drag:

Thanks Bob, but unfortunately can't fit everything in this time.
I'm sure you guys will have fun without us. ( and a few glasses of Barossa's best )
At Corvettes of SA's general meeting Wednesday night, they drew out the Early Bird prize for the Convention.
Congratulations to Kevin Tresidder of Corvette’s Down Under who has won a free entry into the Convention.

Day 1. The secret is out! The trailer got finished :pepper: Special thanks to Richard Stones without who's help would not have happened. :thumb:
The Pres saw us off for the road trip to Barossa.

Day 2 Narrandera to Renmark.
Managed to dodge the local constabulary to arrive safely at Renmark :nono:. Sitting on the side of the truckies channel proved interesting as they gave a running commentary regarding the "Corvette snake" down the Sturt Highway. :drag:
Dinner at Renmark Hotel overlooking the mighty Murray with great friends was magnificent.

Great photos sabre and the trailer is incredible. It makes a trip to the Vines easy especially with the kitchen sink in the trailer. We all wish every one all the best. Chris and Sandy :thumb:

Winners are grinners!
John Macrae won C3 personal and Mal and I scored runner up in C3 and C4 personal respectively.
Murray and Wendy Forman scored a win in the C2 category and won the perpetual American Spirit award. Sorry the photo is not the best.
On a sad note, one of our new members, Deb Groat, lost her father in a road accident during the weekend. Neil and Deb left before the Show 'n' Shine which put a bit of a downer on the weekend. Our thoughts are with Deb and Neil and their family during this time.

Sorry to hear about Deb's loss. Jethro and Tarcey

Gary saw the shot below of the trailer, let me say it looks "Bloody Great" . A fantastic job - well done.

A few more photos of the road trip home. Enroute to the Great Ocean Road.
More to come.
