I sat in the shed last night till 1.30 am doing a motor for the bridge race this weekend. One set back after another with this one. Im going to fire it up this morning. Hopfully I get the boat in the water this arvo. The motor only needs to last 40 minutes. Doesnt sound long but its the longest 40 minutes for a motor at full noise. Im predicting 5. We could have a guesing comp. ;58

Well the race is run and won. What a hell ride holding a wild bucking  machine flat for 70 miles. The great news is I won my class (not sure of the time). I still cant believe it made it.
Now its time to go back in the shed and find all the stuff that broke off it on the way.

Hi guys, I too know what it is like to be out of work. I was laid off on Xmas eve. And so far have not found any future employment.

If anyone knows of any positions available for an IT Manager, PLEASE contact me.

Im a workcover forklift assessor. They have been advertising pretty hard for Workcover auditors. Its a long shot but why dont you apply. There head office is local to you.

Im back in the shed restoring three pedal cars for a guy and a car is coming here next week for a resto.
I really didnt want to go back on the tools but you got to do what you got to do.

I fitted a motor to a push bike last week. Ive taken it to two jobs. Surpisingly its been getting me there in not much more time than driving. Just hope I dont get run over.

did you not request a special licence to save your job, I know the RTA can provide a provisional licence to cover till your done, but if you get caught whilst on it your done big time

Panther the RTA are inflexible on taking your licence once you go over 30. I havent been booked in 10 years. I even went to court to ask the judge for a permit to go to work. Today I rode my motorised pushbike from Windsor to Lane Cove. Tommorrow Manly Vale and then Milperra on Wed. Its not much fun but what I have to do

I wont get any fitter. The motor did all the work. It took me the same time on the bike as it does in the car including stopping to pick things up as they fell off (made in China). Work that one out the bike at best does 50kph and I used 2 litres of fuel for the round trip.

ive toyed with the idea of getting such a motor for a pushie...where do you find such a thing? couple of them at work, but they home made gutless things, that wont climb a hill without peddleing.

I'm interested in what sort of motor that is. I thought it was one of those pedal-assist things.

I modified mine heaps. Im doing around 60 but I have to fix it every night for the next day. I feel like Im in the world rally.
Today it started leaking from the head gasket. I pulled it apart on the side of the road reseated it and still got to Manly on time. I also bounced of the side of an NRMA van. Luckily it stopped me from going over.
What was really funny was passing cars going up the spit hill (pedalling as well). Just goes to show how bad the traffic is here.
I bought my set up for $300 from a shop here in Penrith but be warned they needs heaps of development and tinkering to keep them going.
The vibration is real hard on them. Ive already beefed up the engine mounts, welded the exhuast pipe together and now I need bigger head studs.
If you buy one Ill tell you what to do to make them go better.

Pedalling up Spit Road is not my idea of fun, with or without motor-assist.

How about a pic or two of "the beast"?

Well I made it to Milperra in the rain this morning. Just the clutch arm mechanism broke. Luckily the job I went to had a full workshop so I fixed it there for the trip home. On the way home the big end went so thats the end of that experiment.
Dont buy one of these Chinese things. Get a decent Honda or Briggs and Straton 4 stroke and fit that to your frame.
The cycle paths on the M7 and M4 are great.

The receipt says 30 days. Ive only had it since the 5th of May. Ive played around with it a lot so I guess they will use that to get out of it. The reality is if I didnt play around with it it wouldnt have worked.
Ive also pulled it all apart to see what happened.
Ill take the motor back tommorrow and see what he says.
I really thought I had it sorted all out. It was finally running really well.

Yesterday I picked up one of two new boat motors. They are 2200 cubic inches each. V12 650hp.
They weigh 1900kg and chew 14 gallons of petrol an hour. Check it out  So I now have a 66cc motor for everyday and a 32000cc motor to annoy the greenies. http://www.cawpba.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=107

Sting 69 I know one thing Ive got more chance picking up on that stupid bike than I have with my Vette.

The girls actually smile when you are perving at them through their window in the traffic plus if I can find a way to bounce off one of their cars and only get a little hurt she might give me mouth to mouth. Heres hoping the only other group that envy me are young school boys and the clients waiting for the bus out the front of cherrywood village (a home for the mentally handicapped near where I live). I actually think they feel Im one of them. They wave to me every time I go past.

Got the new bike today and fully rubber mounted the motor. This arvo while testing I stuffed up and hit one of those white markers on the side of the road.

As I hit it I was praying that it was plastic. Well guess what steel. I went straight over the handle bars landing on my back. ;50

As I hit the marker my leg got caught and tore my jeans from one knee around to the other knee.

Im nursing a 6 inch gash from my groin to my inner thigh, a sore knee and back.

I still consider myself lucky if that gash was any deeper I would have cut an artery.

I havent had a stack like that since I raced motorcross. This is serious stuff.

Well Ive got 2 weeks to go. I have given up on the motorised bike deal. A week after hitting the pole I got hit by a car at the Elizabeth drive and Cowpasture rd intersection. A guy didnt see me crossing the intersection and drove straight into me. I didnt get hurt but another bike got broken. I managed to straighten the back wheel (it was still heavily buckled) and still get to Milperra only 5 minutes late.

I got another bike after that and then the motor blew up completely coming home from Fairfield on Saturday. I pedalled the last 10 ks home.

These Chinese things are junk.

I just rebuilt my motor on the hydro for the weekend races at Forster. Hopefully I dont blow this one.

Thanks Graham. Had a top weekend at the races. Thanks Recklaw for the help.
The boat ran hard but It got smashed on the left hand side. Im still not sure what I hit but the damgae is pretty extensive.
So now I have a busted bike and raceboat.

On the way home we got pulled over by the HWY Patrol. First thing he said was who owns the trailer.
Their eagle eye computor system picked up that the trailer was registered to someone who lost their licence.

After he realised that I wasnt driving he asked about the boat. Needless to say he didnt pick up that the trailer lights wernt working or the rego didnt match the trailer.

After it got broken he said "I guess the price just went down a few grand". I responded with "Ill fix it and the price will go up a few". Im having too much fun in it to get rid of it yet. 1 week to go. left my place at 5.30am for Fairfield by train. Did 3 licences and then caught another train to Mascot to do a job at Qantas. Finished at 1pm and caught the train home.
My wife rang me in tears saying the car had run out of fuel. In between all the carrying on I realised that there was an electrical problem. She managed to get a guy to jump start the car.
Finally I got picked up but she was still adamant that the car was out of fuel. When she tried to start the car nothing happened. I got another jump start and on the way home she conceded that the battery light had been on for a couple of days. ;58
I spent the rest of the arvo putting another alternator in.

Dont talk to me about being ripped off. Has anyone else noticed all the Mother Fxxxxers ramping up everything.
Yesterday I got my rates notice and its gone up by $600, my electricity bill has almost doubled and the icing on the cake came today when I went to buy a green slip for my Falcon. Last one I bought through AAMI was $350. This one is nearly $600.
They changed there pricing policy so now you get charged more because you dont have your car comprehensively insured.
I said OK whats it going to cost to insure the car for $1000? They came back with $500.
I am so over getting screwed.
Why is petrol still $1.20 when oil prices have plumeted and the dollar is strong?
I wish our community wasnt so weak and accepting of what is being done to them.
Try doing this in France or Italy. They just riot and everything gets reversed.

Italy is a basket case: some 50 governments in 50 years.

And don't get me started about France.

The NSW government is the walking dead waiting for an election to bury them. They silently ramped up a slew of RTA charges outside the budget process by gazetting them.

That's how it was in NSW for decades with the underwriting being done by the Government Insurance Office (GIO).

Then it was farmed out to a list of general insurance companies with buyer choice and CTP insurance costs dropped dramatically ... for a time, until they started to creep up each year as the number of players reduced to just a handfull.

I did that and found QBE was the only one who didnt care if you were insured or not. I got the green slip for $440.
With the rego fee the car cost $838 to put on the road.

Thats just madness.

Anyway I drove my Impala to Mascot for work today. The car ran crap. Thats what happens when they sit around.
Im taking my daughter and the Vette to Culburra (near Nowra) tommorow for a run. Hopefully it will run better.

Italy is a basket case: some 50 governments in 50 years.

And don't get me started about France.

The NSW government is the walking dead waiting for an election to bury them. They silently ramped up a slew of RTA charges outside the budget process by gazetting them.

Ive been to both countries a few times and what I like is the mess they are in. Im generalising here but where can you have a head of govt (Italian) who can screw around and knowbody cares or for that fact refuses to step down even when he is voted out of govt and somehow manages to stay as the head. And have you seen the French presidents wife half his age and hotter than hell.
Driving in either country is like being at the speedway and everyone just does what they like.

Graham Im sure you have a better series of reasons why these countries are buggered but the people there have the final say not the people that run them.

Now I see where your system is at I think I will stop complaining about $650 for rego AND CTP

Ive got a feeling Im going to lose my licence again.

Today the fires came within 10feet of my house.

After being called by my neighbours I decided I had to ignore the Police road blocks and just drive on through.

The Hwy Patrol chased me the few ks to my property. I refused to stop. When I got to my place the female copper roughed me up a bit (what a turn on).

She took my licence and gave me a mouth full. My only response was to tell them to go away and come back when we get the fires out.

Now I just have to  wait and see what happens.

The only upside to all this is my old Dodge truck can outrun a commodore Patrol car :drag:

Your property crossed my mind when I heard about those western Sydney fires.

I hope all is OK. They reckon we're in for a lot more of it this summer.

Tell the cops you thought they were giving you an escort to the scene of the fire.

Oh, and paint the truck red and put flashing lights on it .

Thanks Graham. We signed a petition this winter to get the bush burnt off. The fire chief said there was no potential fire risk in this area.
I really cant understand how they can support this argument. Its all burnt out now. There is nothing left for the wildlife.
Managed burn offs would protect them also.

Re the Red paint. My brother put on his SES uniform and managed to talk his way past the road block. I knew I wouldnt have that luxury.

Hopefully the coppers leave me alone. They could really throw the book at me this time.

Glad to hear you are all safe and good luck with the license.

The problem is a lot of people don't understand fire risk.  We have bushland and a LOT of molassas grass around our place.  That stuff just builds up and dies in a meter thick layer.  Fires love it.

When it was starting to get hot and dry, we did some burning off in small sections because we know there would be a fire ban in place pretty soon.  Our new neighbour (of a few months) who is renting came by and asked us to stop because the smoke was ruining their afternoon sitting on the balcony. We have been on the hill for 20 years and seen a few fires, but most newcomers wouldn't have a clue.

The very next week, the entire hill opposite us went up in flames, with the choppers water bombing it and everything.  Meanwhile, the neighbours house has a _lot_ of flammable stuff very close to the house.  If our hill goes up, they are going to be in a lot of trouble.

It seems there are too many people in charge that don't fully understand the repercussions of their decisions.  At least the greenies are being told where to go with their anti-burnoff stance.

I hope your neighbour had a lovely time sitting on his balcony watching all of that.
