Title: C4 85 - 87 Electrical Sensors.
Post by: Vettech on April 22, 2018, 05:13:08 PM
C4 electrical sensors located on the front of the L98 just under the TB.

Cant find my definitive  C4 electrical book.

Pretty sure one is the water temp for the ECM.

But cant find what the other is, cant find it in any US cataldog.

I'm sure some one out there knows - please advise. Much appreciated...

Ummmmmmmm.......... No!

I did see this one, not sure why its not on there, anyway, found my books (grr .women).

Anyway

1. With the rounded top is the "Coolant Temperature Sensor" - this feeds the ECM. Not to be confused with Temp Sender under/near cyc 1 which feeds the gauges I think.

2. The larger one with square top is the "Thermo Time Switch"

BUT!  On your diagram they could be "D" and "N11".

N11 is associated with the cold start or 9th Injector, and bypasses when the engine is already up to temp.
This Injector is also controlled by the ECM which from memory only runs it for 8sec upon cold start.

Thanks for that, the copy I saw was unreadable, yours is betterere - tks.
