Title: c3 radiator filling...
Post by: nifty on August 02, 2007, 09:58:12 PM
mate with a 73 is kind of bummed he cant get the radiator full because the top hose is higher than the filler neck,so he made this to hopefully fix the problem.
....pud machined up the pipe to the same size as the original housing, then i welded it for him.....hole got bored through the side and the other boilermaker on my shift soldered a filler neck on.(i cant solder to save my self.) the new piece will replace the old housing, and will be topped up from here from now on.pud made it taller, and the top hose will now be flatter instead of running up hill .all it needs is a quick paint then its on the car....will let you know how it works....you can actually buy this sort of thing from some shops, but pud has a motto....
IF YOU CANT MAKE IT....ITS NOT WORTH HAVING....

you can put in a pipe with a  cap on it in between the top radiator hose, that would be the highest point ,but i gess that would work.:x
