What is the fastest Corvette?
Super tuners John Lingenfelter and Reeves Callaway have built Vettes to run over 220 mph, but Juris Mindenbergs holds the all-time Corvette record at 266.45 mph. He set his mark in 1988 at Bonneville, driving an '85 model powered by a 557ci, fuel-injected Rat on gas. Actually, Juris went 271.044 on the first leg but lost a cylinder on the required return run, dropping the average to just over 266 mph. Juris tried to break his own record in the mid-90's with a new car but crashed.

Wow! 271 MPH is crazy! You need a lot of HP to overpower the 271 MPH wind that is hitting the car. Simply amazing!
