Title: 85 Half Shaft Uni Joints
Post by: 77CVT on March 05, 2017, 06:57:47 PM
Went to the States last year and bought 4 half shaft u joints for my 85, or at least I thought I did.  Got moog 280 u joints but they are 82mm wide.  Old ones are 93mm

Can't possibly be right.  Autozone website says otherwise.

Anyone got the right part No?   :banghead: :banghead:

Measure the OD of the cups and the overall width of the uni
Then talk to any bearing company that sells spicer
You will be able to buy them here
Make sure they supply spicer
 Check out a 1350

Thanks.  Looks like 1350's are the ones.

I shouldn't be frustrated as it has taken me 6mths+ to get to the point of actually removing the shafts.

For future reference, the Spicer part No is 5-178X (1350 series).

if you have a lot of power up front I would look at 5-1350X  with a solid cross.
