NSW Corvettes weekend in Port Macquarie
Friday 14 September 2018 to Sunday 16 September 2018
It’s on again folks. Firm details yet to be confirmed but something along the lines of eating, drinking, relaxing and a short cruise.
I recommend the accommodation we used 2 years ago which is Sails Resort by Rydges

The hotel is now fully restored and is a beautiful location to stay. I am not reserving rooms - please book ASAP. Prices are on the web but please check other booking sites.

Not long left, and there is a BBQ festival in town the same weekend. Might try and arrange something with that in mind

I've had two weeks of jet lag, I suppose after being away for so long the body becomes acclimatised.
So a nice local Oz break will be good.

Less than a week to go now yaaay. A few details for the weekend. The weekend is all about enjoying Port Macquarie and surrounds and the Blues and BBQ Festival.
I know of 12 couples coming to Port for fun, please let me know if you are attending so I can confirm numbers at restaurants.
Friday night tea is at Pipeworks, 7pm. It’s just across the road from Sails Rydges hotel and is pizza and delicious shish kebab meat dishes.
Saturday breaky is up to you. There are lots of choice for breakfasts close to Sails Rydges or in town. The Westport Club has an excellent breaky with views to die for and is only minutes walk from the hotel. Saturday is all about experiencing the Blues and BBQ festival. Please bring your Corvette as the festival wants us to display them. There is no time commitment it’s up to us when we go and leave. I suggest we park our cars at the festival mid morning and leave mid arvo. The display will be at the caravan park and I will need to convoy the cars in. Saturday evening meal is at Quay Lime 7pm, a restaurant next to Sails Rydges.
Sunday Breaky is your choice again. At 10.30 we’ll go for a short cruise down the coast (40km) to a spectacular look out called North Brother or Dooragan National Park. Then we’ll have lunch at 12 midday at Oasis in North Haven. Post lunch we’ll visit Longpoint Winery and Crystalline Pottery where the potter grows crystals in the glaze which are amazing. Sunday evening meal will be at TG’s, 7pm, in town with a chance for drinks at Beach House before sunset.
Monday breaky again will be your choice as you arrange your journey home.

Plenty of members (and wives), maybe next year we will all have our cars fixed and running.
I love Sails Resort. Pool and Spa were great, sorry we could only do a short weekend.
Some very interesting short runs, and that Ceramics place cost me an arm and leg.
But he was quick and concise with his display and very informative.
I dont think I'll be able to eat BBQ Meat for a week or two, the smokey flavours were great, I ate a bucket load of tasters.

Port was just as we expected another well run weekend put together superbly!! Thanks again go to The "Jaggies " They have out done themselves again, well attended and great people to go away with . If you missed this one for any reason then put next years on your calendar now .Once again WELL DONE.

I would love to see some photos of the weekend ,really sorry we missed it . Getting photos onto this forum is like trying to find Lassiters Reef . Maybe Cam is back from Melbourne and if you send them to him he might put some up !!!! Cheers Ray

Morning Ray.
I sent 6x pics to Cam to "admin@nsw......" and asked if he could put them up. I tried and they were too big and I dont know how to make smaller....
I also asked Jaggers to do the same with his pics, I have had no response.
Maybe Cam is in a blind spot......
