Hello everyone
We are now counting down the months and will be sending monthly updates for you. If you have questions about the event, please send them through to me.
Please pass the following report on to your Club Members at your next meeting and on your runs together:
- There are over 50 of the rooms at the Burke and Wills Toowoomba booked out. Although we have other accommodation arranged, it will be more expensive and not in the centre of the action. Our advice is to book your rooms asap.
- So far, we do not have as many entries for the actual event itself. All entries received and paid for by the 31st December 2012, will be entered into the draw to receive their accommodation at the Burke and Wills free of charge for the three nights.
- We have special guest coming from the Bowling Green Plant. He is a Manager there and will be bringing over up to date information from the home of the Corvette. He will be with us for the entire weekend and is looking forward to meeting as many people as possible as well as taking part in all our events.
- There is no undercover parking for your pride and joy – we are sorry about that but that’s just not possible in Toowoomba. Please ensure you bring your car covers with you. We have security booked to look after the car parks each night.
- Please note that on Sunday you need to choose from either the Track Day or the Sunday cruise – it is not possible to do both. We are not planning to have extra transport to either event at this stage.

I have stayed at the Burke and Wills The carpark is open, right next to the building. It's a fairly old building too and the rooms are rather small. Toowoomba Central Plaza is right next door is newer and has an underground carpark, but like any underground carpark, it's tight. Obviously more expensive.
If you go, make sure you check out Phat Burger. It's about 100m down the road from both places and make awesome burgers.

As the 2013 Corvette Nationals are fast approaching, we are organising a convoy from Sydney to Toowoomba via the New England Highway. We will be meeting at Maccas on the Pacific Highway at Thornleigh in Sydney's north at 08.00am for a 08.30 departure on Wednesday 27th March. Travelling up the Hunter Valley, we hope to be in Tamworth by mid-afternoon, and will be staying overnight at The Golden Guitar Motor Inn. On Thursday morning we will continue our road trip on to Toowoomba, arriving in time to clean up the 'Vettes and settle in for the Easter long-weekend.
Ray Smith has organised "queen executive suites" at the Golden Guitar at a great rate of $130 per room for the night for us Corvetters, with around seven couples so far from NSW, and four from Canberra likely to be joining the convoy.

Corvettes of Melbourne have been advised of this trip and are encouraged to join us also.

"Hello everyone
1. The countdown has seriously started and we want to let everyone know that we will be placing orders for shirts, port, show bags etc by the 1st February. Easter is very early this year and as a result we have an extra early cut-off date. Please remind all your Club members that as from the 1st February the price for the Convention increases and there is no guarantee that shirts and show bags will be available for last minute entries.
2. The Hotel is taking the last few bookings and then we will refer people to other Hotels. Please tell members that they will need to email me for these details if they have not secured their accommodation yet.
3. We received a rush of entries late in December 2012 and are processing these now. We will announce the winner of the early bird accommodation draw in our next email.
4. If any entrants wish to order a special ladies shirt, I need them to email me before 25th January for details. These shirts will not be available for purchases after this date. I can email a picture for any interested ladies.

If anyone is seeking a room at the convention venue, the Burke and Wills Hotel in Toowoomba, a couple of rooms have become available, due to the late cancellation of some overseas visitors.
Please contact Murray Foreman without delay on 0402 917400.
If not taken up by monday 11th Feb, the rooms will be surrendered back to the hotel.

Hello everyone
This will be the last generic email as from now on we will be only emailing those who have registered for the 25th National Convention. As there are only six weeks to go, we are fine tuning the event and confirming last minute details.
We have confirmed the attendance of Eric Millette from the Bowling Green Plant in Kentucky USA. He will be doing presentations each night about the factory, the C7 and the new amendments at the Plant. He will be very accessible over the weekend and has said he is looking forward to meeting as many people as possible. Talking Corvettes is his favourite pastime!!
We have confirmed the Show and Shine will be held in the centre of Toowoomba in the Village Green – across the road from the Burke and Wills Hotel so there is no chance of getting lost and the ladies can enjoy as much shopping as their husbands will allow!! We will be featuring C1 through C6’s on display. Performax are working on the C6 2013 427 anniversary convertible right now and this will take pride of place in the display.
If you know anyone who wants to advertise their Corvette for sale, the next Just Cars magazine will be featuring Corvette articles.
Final entries are now being accepted at the higher entry fee. Please check this when putting your entry through.
Accommodation can be booked direct with the Burke and Wills Hotel on (07) 4632 2433.
Paul Stokell (Stokell Motorsport) has confirmed 3 events on the track at Morgan Park and there should be time for a fun cruise as well.

There is still a lot to do
Today it came of the hoist.
Rebuilt engine, new transmission ,new diff ,new brakes all round
I have a brogsen steering box and Hydraboost but I can not see them in the car before the convention .
The DeWitt radiator turned up last Monday unfortunately damaged
I am not keen on running to Queensland on the original radiator
I may ave to pull the radiator out of my 69 for the trip.
With time running out
The car goes in tomorrow for a custom exhaust
And Tuesday to the auto electricians to tidy up some wiring
I will if all goes to plan take her on he run next Sunday
Driving her today all thing are working and no issues
I have it a little peddle down to see what it goes like an found the rev limiter works
5600 RPM times to change gears
I think she has enought grunt for now
And the 6 speed is quit nice .
My new hood won't get here in time
For the present time she has a hood I got for my 69 and a nice shade of blue
She is for now a two tone vette

I fitted the fans that came with the dewitt Raditaor I imported ( unfortunately arrived damaged )

Hello Corvetters
By now some of you are deciding what to pack, most of you are planning a clean and polish session on your pride and joy this weekend and there may even be some of you thinking about going for a cruise because the sun is finally shining!
Some last minute tips to assist with all of the above:
- Dress code is smart casual for the weekend.
- We would ask everyone to wear their club shirt with pride on Friday night. We want you to show off where you come from and start a conversation with someone new. We plan to celebrate 25 years of National Conventions.
- We would love to show some pictures of previous Conventions – if anyone has some please email them to me.
- There was no interest in a mini van to provide extra seats on the Sunday cruise around Toowoomba so if you do not wish to attend the track day with your partner, you will need to make arrangements with a friend for a ride to this event
- Please note that your weekend entry fee does not include breakfasts on Saturday or Sunday or lunch at the Show and Shine day or the Track Event. (but we do have various caterers available)
- The Burke and Wills restaurant will be open Saturday and Sunday morning extra early just for our guests.
- Full details about the event will be available at Registration on Friday but as a reminder we have the following arranged:
Friday
Registration – 11am – 5pm at Burke and Wills. Hotel checkin from 2pm.
Car wash -
1. There will be a designated area at the Burke and Wills.
2. there is a hand wash facility at the Wash Depot located at the corner of Warego Highway and Hursley Rd (entrance off Hursley Rd) . They are happy for you to bring your own car wash products. It is Corvette friendly and has 3 manual wash bays.
Friday night - Meet and Greet. Bar opens at 5.30 pm and bbq buffet will be set up from 6pm. Please note that due to Queensland liquor laws, the bar will be closing at 10.00pm.
Saturday – Show and Shine from 9am to 2pm at the Village Green in the centre of Toowoomba (off Victoria St)
- Trophy Gala Dinner
Sunday – either the track Event at Morgan Park or the Toowoomba Drive – the selection you chose will be confirmed at registration.
- Sunday night dinner, trophies and special presentations.
Monday – Farewell breakfast at local café.

Hello everyone
Below this note is a copy of the first email I sent out. I believe that not all of you were able to open the attachment – my apologies.
We now have over 100 entrants coming and the numbers are still climbing. Obviously, we will soon be unable to guarantee a Nationals shirt so if you have any fellow club members who have been holding off, we need their entries this week.
If anyone is unsure about their accommodation booking or anything about the weekend, please send me an email.
Our special guest from the USA is Eric Millette – one of the Plant Managers from Bowling Green. He is thrilled to be coming over and is bringing a small present for everyone and he also will have 3 short presentations on the Corvette Factory and the C7. He says his favourite thing to do is to meet fellow enthusiasts and chat over coffee or a beer – he plans to meet as many of you as possible over the weekend. His wife, Caroline is also coming over and we would like everyone to ensure they make the effort to say hello to this special couple at some stage over the weekend.
We have forwarded raffle tickets to all clubs. The prize is $500 of Woolworth vouchers which I am sure the winner will gratefully use to help pay for some of the fuel!! We already have had requests for more books and as the cost per ticket is so reasonable, nearly everything is selling quickly. We have limited the numbers so let me know if you need more books asap. The charities we are supporting over the weekend are the Royal Flying Doctors and the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. Both of these were heavily involved with victims of floods over the past 3 years and we are happy to help them in return.
(You can either send back the butts with a cheque, or bring them to the Nationals. )

Hello fellow Corvette enthusiasts.
We are counting down the days to the start of the 25th Corvette Nationals in Toowoomba and we are all looking forward to meeting you, getting to know you better and sharing our love of our special vehicles.
Plans are well in hand and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of the committee. We would be happy to help.
We recommend that you bring the following items with you:
- Car cover. There is no undercover parking available at the Hotel but we do have security (complete with dogs) patrolling each night.
- Helmets, long sleeved shirts, long trousers and closed in shoes are required at the track day.
- E-toll for the roads ahead of you.
- Your collapsible chairs (if you can fit them in)
- Your club shirts. On Friday night we are celebrating 25 years of conventions in Australia and would like you to wear your shirt with pride and let everyone know where you come from.
Please note that as with most things, we have had to make some changes to the original programme released 12 months ago. The Sunday cruise does not go to a winery – it is a leisurely drive including several points of interest in the local area and incorporates morning tea and lunch.
I will be sending a couple more emails over the next few weeks to update our plans.

Here are some pics. We took out a few awards last night and tonight Gary N took out a couple of the track. (A wet track). He had a spectacular slide off the track apparently.
Gary also came - 1st Motorkhana and Emu award for passing everyone. Also a pic attached of NSW winners last night for Show and Shine.

First I have to say what a great weekend
Also the trip up and back was a good part of the weekend and the the members in the convoy made the enjoyable
Our club had a good representation at the convention
On most trips away the are some problems mechanical etc and it was great to see just how people came together to assist when those annoying problem crop up
The weekend was excellent and that is a tribute to the people who attended to make is a success
