Some very valuable info there. I think alot of those are common sense rules that would apply to car purchasing in general, but you would be surprised how many people just buy a vehicle having done no research and are totally gutted when the car arrives. With the marvels of Google, forums etc, people can look up tests, photos and related info on the particular car you are after before the purchase.
I paid to get 2 cars inspected before buying my Vette and it was worth every cent and cheaper than a plane ride, however if I was spending $40k, 50k or more I think I'd want to see the car in person.
Good stuff.

Very good points
From my personal experience its not hard to miss things you should not when buying a vette
its is wise to employ some one to give you a written report.
and when it comes to money
a 30/40k ( landed here in australia ) car will cost you a reasonable amount more.
depending on your particular fetish when it comes to a cars.
original number matching.
custom or full on hot rod
now number matching that does not mean as original manufactured
it means the car that appears to comply with what it could have been, when manufactured for that year model ( buyer be where )
remember Americans know how to use number and letter stamps
and they are quite good at BS when t comes to flipping cars.
my fetish leans more to the hot Rod fraternity.
look reasonable, stop well, and go like the preferably bat out of hell
which ever way you go, be repaired to spend a few more thousand on the car you purchase
Note
a few more will translate to 20k to 50 K in a very short time frame

Jethro You would agree with that I would think

Indeed I do young Bobby Indeed I do :tears: But then again one must remember we are talking 40 odd years old and I'm a firm believer that all passions in life have a cost attributed to them in one form or another. Just depends on how possessed one is in the end result of said passion ?
