Anyone know where I can purchase a new windscreen in Australia to suit a 71, I guess 68-82 would be the same

I am looking for the windscreen in green shaded glass.

Brad.

When I got a new screen, the first one was the wrong shape at the bottom. Apparently there are differences between early and late C3

Thanks.

The reason I am looking at changing my screen is the one I have does not seem to be cut correctly. The bottom is good however the top has not got the same curve as the frame.
In the center of the screen it fits good but where it curves down to the top of the pillars there is quite a large gap.
There is still plenty of room to bond the screen to the pinchweld but what concerns me is the top ss header moulding will only overlap the ends of the screen by about 1/16" where in the center it will be about 1/4".
I will post a picture when I get home from work.

This is my windscreen I removed from the car when I started to rebuild it.
Its not an original screen however it is perfect condition (other then the fact the top does not seem to be cut correctly)
I have dry fitted the screen and have it spaced out from the pinchweld 3/8" and the bottom is sitting on the wiper park bracket.
The top moulding only just overlaps the gap on the top sides of the screen.
I am still deciding if I should use this screen or not!!!

I need one for my 71 too.  Do the chrome strips on the side need to come off?  I have new weatherstrips to put on and I'm not sure if they come off either.  Just didn't want to put them on now and have to remove them later.

I paid $770 for the new screen, actually the insurance company paid for it.:thumb:
Ralph Moore Auto glass, Mascot. Installed it at home

I replaced the clips & screws that secure the S/steel strip across the top of the windscreen as well. Ralph has them in stock or you can purchase them from the Ecklers http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-windshield-molding-reveal-clip-1968-1982.html?crosssell=Product_Upsell

If you’re going to the trouble to have the screen replace, spend the extra time and remove the Upper Corner Moldings along with the S/steel T/top mold, you might find  the bird cage may need attention.

:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh:

I paid Obriens list price which was $220 (for my 68 windscreen)
through a mate and he fitted it for a case of green cheques.
I think $400 or round abouts is what Obriens would charge.

For those that are interested, I'm heading in on Friday to replace my windscreen at O'briens, it will be $808 all up (this was after negotiating with them for a few minutes, it was going to be $898 originally). This also includes free repairs at o'briens centres if if gets any chips in it.
A bit ouchy, but still cheaper than heading to Sydney to get it installed (so it seems).
