Given America's long love affair with the Corvette, it's always struck me odd that there hasn't been at least one notable good song dedicated to it.

Little red Corvette by Prince? It may not be good to your standard but it was a massive hit.
Corvettes have also been referenced in songs - Jan & Dean's Deadman's Curve's opening line:
I was cruisin' in my Stingray late one night
It also makes mention of the 6 tail lights, a common mod to the Stingray's of the era was to add an additional pair of tail lights.

Maybe, but who sings it now? Stayers are usually covered by many people for a long time afterwards.
