I gave up on them a while ago Jethro, even with the club discount (which you‘ll find on page 22 of this months club magazine) they slug you with freight costs.

^ Ditto re Ecklers freight charges.

Also, the discount was never what I'd call "hefty" and it varies by category of goods ... down to 0%.

I use Ecklers for their comprehensive and easy to use online catalog to research parts, then seek prices elsewhere.

Like a number of Corvette parts dealers, Ecklers don't always stock what they advertise; they get them in from another source when you order them. And, in my experience, Ecklers seem to source a lot of Chinese made parts by default. There are other dealers who will ship American parts whenever possible.

Sorry to dig up a past post but I need to vent.....

:soap:  I have pretty much used Ecklers over the past 10 years and up until about 2-3 years ago I would have to say the service I got was fantastic.  Now, they would have to be one of the most annoying companies to deal with!

I have always emailed my order through......always.  Now they fob me off to their website, which is fine except I have no internet at home at the moment and the other suggestion was to ring......as if I am going to wait up until midnight to call them when they have my card details now! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bash it Ecklers!!!:soap:

I will be trying other companies from now on!

if you need parts  for your vette
email Russ Of Smart Parts Corvette
on
Esales@SmartPartsCorvette.com

They are help full and go out of the way to get the best shipping price
This is where I buy my parts from
average  delivery time 2 weeks
longest time  18 days
for an air dame for a 70 model
box was 1600 x 150 x150
freight cost 42 dollars US
see what the so called major companies would charge  to freight that.

Thanks boys.  I saw the Smart Parts Corvette post and sent him an email.

If he doesn't have some parts I'll see if the other guy has.

I don't care if I wait 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Just a PS on Sam Mooney ... he's apparently very good if you are doing an NCRS resto; he has deep knowledge of genuine Corvette parts. If he hasn't got exactly the right part that you want, he'll search it out for you. Also I'm told he keeps his shipping costs low.

Placed my order with Small Parts on Friday.  Russ emailed staright back matched or beat Ecklers prices by 8% overall.

I had to wait a while for some parts to come in but the shipping came to US$65 for what are mainly bulky items so I'm happy.

I'd recommend you give them a go if you are disappointed with your current parts provider.

Update:  I got a refund of the postage costs as it didn't cost as much as quoted!  That has NEVER happened before!
