Are you looking for a bigblock convertable?? Send me a pm. I know of one that might be still for sale at a good price

Dan A big block  block is the war to go
A small block is an option as I would fit an LSx to it
That is if I bought a SB

I Am in the middle of working out the swap now in another car

Quality  will always draw big dollars regardless of what we are talking about

If the car is rare there usually will be a buyer but right now, not as many as before.

There's a slump in the US and some 'vette owners have been advertising their cars at the same price for too long - it shows that there isn't a market for it at their chosen price so they have to 'Dutch auction' their cars if they want a sale.

Some bought during the heyday and spent big, they expect to make their money back but in these hard times it's not easy, the run of the mill cars aren't fetching what they were as recent as a few years back.

It's a soft market right now in the US and probably the best time in many years for us in Aus. to take advantage of it.

;)

dont trust anyone!!!
I bought this corvette from a dealer, but, it was a consignment car. I spoke with the owner who had the car for 22 years and he had all the paperwork and receipts to prove it.
I think I bought a good one.
I veiwed lots of corvettes that were in great shape, but a matching numbers one IS hard to find.
I have bought many cars (and bikes) from the USA, and I  think I bought a good car at a very good price!

I had a similar experience driving all over the the west coast, looking at disappointing cars.
I won't mention names, but some dealers just pray on the less knowledgable to sell POS cars with paint jobs.
Consignment cars can be good deals, the dealers takes a percentage of the sale price (much like real estate) and just want to move it.
But original engines (not restamps) no rust and no hit bodies with decent paint are very hard to find at a reasonable price.
Mine has some minor mechanical issues, nothing I can't fix, but it's "as above" and I'm pretty happy with it too.
Glad you found a good car as well.

EBay
Gets a lot of stick
but that is a forum used  my all sort of sellers and buyers
there are lots of stories of people paying top dollar for a questionable result
When we  evaluate this  there is at least two parties
and the seller  can not be held responsible  for the buyer parting with his funds

That is down to the buyer
IF we do not take sufficient care then  we the buyers should take some of the blame, if the  result is not as we mite like it to be

Absolutely, not all ebay stories have a sad ending, many people are very happy with their purchase.

As long as the price is right' and the car is as described there usually isn't a problem.

The problem is when you get blurry photos and/or misleading descriptions not highlighting exactly how much damage, rust, etc. the car has.

Yep it is the same car. Its in great condition. my first corvette.
I am just in the process of buying some Foose wheels for it.
Im thinking of buying another 73 car he has for sale.
Did you find a 69 435? I found a really good one over there but it wasnt matching numbers. had a full frame off resto and was very nice.
